My writing explores the role of esoteric spirituality and intuitive discipline in the creative process of music. My essays are consistently in the form of spiritual biopics of historically under-represented American composers. Through archival research, personal interviews, and what often feels like cryptography, I have discovered a rich history of forgotten yet fascinating artists. I am currently preparing a book on the history of esotericism in American music, from Native American dream songs to occult r&b. I am also preparing an abridgment of the unpublished 600-page treatise on intuition by American composer Arthur Farwell.
